Recycling is limited to flattened cardboard only. All other items such as plastic, glass, paper and styrofoam are not permitted. This dumpster is marked with a sign and is located in front of the maintenance shop on the north side of the driveway.
Aluminum Can Donations
A collection shed has been placed next to the cardboard recycling dumpster for aluminum can donations. Proceeds will benefit a potential LTA dog park and the ARK Animal Rescue in Lacon, IL.
You are on camera and subject to a violation/fine for not following these processes.

Q: Are you open to the public
A: No, Lake Thunderbird is a private homeowners association and is only for the use of our members and their guests.Q: How do I become a member of Lake Thunderbird Association?
A: You must own property in the association to be a member and provide the association with a recorded deed. You can find listings in our Chair Tree publication, the bulletin board outside the office or on various real estate websites.Q: How much are the dues for the association?
A: For 2025, vacant lot dues are $562 or $614 with a spigot. Homes are $726.Q: If I own multiple lots, do I have to pay dues on each lot?
A: Yes, dues must be paid on each lot.Q: What does the membership include?
A: You will get 2 vehicle stickers per lot owned to be used only on vehicles registered at your billing address, wristbands for all persons residing at your billing address, and access to all Lake Thunderbird Amenities. Watercraft stickers and additional vehicle stickers are available for a fee. See List of Fees for additional information.Q: What about guests?
A: Members can have guests; however, each guest must wear a guest wristband while on common property (dam, lake, shoreline, pool, beach, nature trails, etc.). Members are responsible for their guests and must accompany their guest on common property (pg. 13 of the Covenants & By-Laws). Guest wristbands are available for pick up at the office by the member.For guests that will be accompanied by a member while on common property, wristbands may be picked up in advance by the member. Alternatively, a member may pick up guest wristbands for that day and their guests can use common property unaccompanied. The member must come to the office to check their guest(s) in each day.
Guests using their own vehicles must have a vehicle pass. Guest vehicle passes are available at the cost of $10.00 per day and are available for pick up at the office by the member. Note: The vehicle license plate number, make, model and color will be required.
